“Silent Waters” released

Silent Waters is now on sale in European record stores and at the Amorphis webshop. Currently available are the regular jewel case version as well as a limited digipak edition with one bonus track. A gatefold vinyl LP will follow soon. In the US, the album will hit the stores on September 18.

Freshly arrived at the webshop are also two new shirt models: a regular t-shirt with the album cover motif (print on both sides) and a girlie version with the new logo design (no back print).

Silent Waters has been elected Album of the Month by Metal Hammer (DE), Sweden Rock Magazine (SE) and Rock Hard (GR). The release gigs at Helsinki’s Tavastia club this weekend are both sold out, for the other shows of the Finnish tour in September are still tickets available.

You can now listen to three songs from the new album in full length on the Amorphis Myspace. Silent Waters tells the story of Kalevala hero Lemminkäinen, based on an original cycle of fourteen poems crafted in Finnish by Pekka Kainulainen. The English translations were done by Erkki Virta. For the unabridged text of the original poems (English version), please read on here.
